Suddenly, for some reason, the AlQaeda number two man Al Zahiri comes out and lets us know that 4,000 Al Qaeda have been killed.
Rule of Propaganda #1 - Deflate actual casualties by 2/3 to guarantee morale of losing forces will stay high.
Rule of Propaganda #2 - Give depleted losing forces hope and drive.
Hostages...Why would he call for hostages unless he believes he can hold them for prisoner exchanges over Guantanamo Prisoners?
Thank you Ex-General Powell and friends McCain and Warner and think tank analyses freaks...you have put forward the Moral Highground and attempted to save it (even though it was a useless tactic), proving to Al Qaeda that we can be negotiated with and don't have the will to fight.
Did the Al Qaeda not learn this when Israel could not exact the release of prisoners held hostage? Are they not, as we speak, still confused over Hezbollah's hold over the people of Lebanon as they are considering how many of the 10,000 prisoners they have which are to be released?
Did Al Qaeda not learn this when we did not attack Iran or force immediate sanctions--when they did not comply with UN mandates?
Strangely, my prediction of a few weeks ago that Our troops would be attacked and held prisoner for exchange or ransom is coming true.
